Ariel Gail

Professor Gail S. Goodman holds a Honorary Chair in Psychology at the University of California Davis and is the director of its Center for Public Policy Research. She is widely acclaimed as a pioneer in the field of eyewitness testimony and child witnesses in the legal setting. Her publications are numerous She has also received a number of grants and is the recipient of many awards at the national level and international. She has consulted with various nations and organizations around the world on policies and the research of child victimization in the court system. She is currently a consultant to the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center located at Sacramento County Child Protective Services (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center). She is a part of numerous professional organizations that include Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. Professor Goodman is a member of Psychonomics Society, the Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children as a Founding Member, International Society for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect and the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She has served as the president of three divisions (Division Society for Child and Family Policy and Practice Division American Psychology Law Society as well as Division Developmental Psychology) and one Section (Child Maltreatment) of the American Psychological Association.
